According to the Globe and Mail, Toronto Humane Society officials were arrested and now face animal cruelty charges. The shelter’s president, chief veterinarian and three other officials face criminal charges after undercover globe and mail reporters discover a wide variety of animal right violations. Animals were denied access to food and water and were left to die in harsh conditions. The disease-infested shelter became a place of horror as animals suffering with cancer and other deadly diseases were left to die. Dozens of animals were found dead in cages. These harsh conditions became the main concerns for animal activists. It is a shame that a place where animals are supposed to feel safe and loved became a place of fear.
